Common Ground
Perspectives, the student magazine of the CIEE Study Center in Khon Kaen, Thailand, began as a newspaper in 2000. It was created by CIEE students enrolled in the journalism track of the CIEE Thailand Literature course.
In 2003,
Perspectives evolved from a class newspaper to the magazine it is today.
Perspectives documents experiences of both CIEE students and the Thai people they meet and befriend along the way, and the serious issues that Thais are living with on a daily basis. It is no longer a class requirement, but a way for students to collect and publish their research compiled during their time on the program. As you can see, many students have taken advantage of this wonderful learning experience over the past years. In 2005 the name of the publication
Perspectives changed to
Common Ground.
